Drove up hill above Marlens, parked by radio masts and walked about 2 hours, following our noses and a fairly simple map.
Wonderful views, sun shining, beautiful autumn colours.

Happened on this guy who was laying out his hang glider. Brief chat, wind in south, not good, but hoping for enough to take off.
He got himself ready, stood waiting for several minutes, then flicked his hang glider and ran forward. It filled and he took off though there seemed to us not a breath of wind. This photo is about 30 seconds into his flight. The campsite is visible at the very bottom centre of the photo.
Drove north on tiny winding road over hills to Thônes, then west and then south to join road down east side of lake. Much pleasanter than the west side we travelled yesterday, but still rather crowded.
Home for a cup of tea !
