We have both been down for the past two days, and have noe weeded , cultivated and covered the areas previously occupied by peas, potatoes runner beans and onions.
Busy since we returned from Cornwall last Monday.
Deb took out beetroot and I replaced with 24 leek plants.
Cut off many seed heads From spinach and chard, and cut lots to eat.
Picked last of peas.

Not a lot of rain in the past week, so some watering done.

About 18 hours of rain Thurs/Fri, around 45mm in total – very welcome and everything has perked up enormously.

A lot of rain in the last few days, 30 – 40 mm I think. Everything has perked up and the spinach and chard have come on amazingly. Cut some spinach today.

Two cool breezy days.
Yesterday I forked and cultivated a strip for the beetroot, then worked on brassica patch some more. Cultivator worked well if soil loosened with fork first and slightly damp. Deb watered and supported raspberries.

Cold with a wind – frost expected tonight. Earthed up potatoes, Deb weeded parsnips (see image below) and watered.
I discovered that cultivator had tines fitted backwards ! Changed this and it works much better !!!
