Home again

Just back.

Bringing forward surgery not pursued, not really likely to happen – I am not bad enough.

Put on an additional drug, though I am not sure it has made any difference. Had a bad day yesterday (test subsequently showed it was just angina) but OK today – tomorrow ??? …

Was offered to stay till surgery or come home. But I don’t think there was anything to be gained and I would have occupied a valuable bed – they were queueing for procedures when I left, dependent on bed availability or they would be sent home again.

I have to tough it out till surgery – two weeks today.

Again I was impressed by the hospital – there were several old frail, needy patients who were very well looked after despite various pressures, and one confused wanderer who was handled so patiently.

Was used as a guinea-pig by several medical students, so I was some use.

Good to be home – allotment needs attention but I can’t begin to think about it. Deb will have to dig the new potatoes!

    Hi Ashley

I have just learned having come home from the AGM that you have been in hospital yet again – I wish I had known sooner.

I did try to subscribe to your blog a week or so ago but I’m not sure it it went through – I guess I must have done something wrong or I would have received this message automatically. As you use to say about the festival entry system ‘there are the people that can use the system and then there are the stupid people!’ or words to that effect! I’ll have another go I think – I was obviously being particularly thick.

It seems that having read your blog that by the time I actually found out that you were back in hospital you were back home again – I can’t keep up with you – you’re like Zebedee!

I wish your operation would hurry up and come – even I can’t stand the suspense!

We’re all thinking of you. The i-pod is going well – I bought a very cheap i-book as an experiment but I think something must have gone wrong as I can’t see it. I don’t think that it helped that I only noticed that the i-pod wasn’t plugged into the computer until half way through the purchase which isn’t the best start but it was plugged in for the synching bit so maybe it would still be OK. Perhaps I couldn’t do it without wi-fi although it didn’t say. so. I won’t buy any more i-books until I find out what I did wrong! Perhaps it is hiding somewhere on the i-pod and I don’t know where – it certainly isn’t obvious.

Speak soon and keep your chin up

    With Best Wishes – Helen
