Cool night at Montalivet but I forgot to turn off heating so we were very comfortable! Cloudy and uninspiring all day.
Set off 10.40, long stretch on rather narrow ordinary roads, but then joined first motorway on this tripped, and purred along!
Arrived about 4.15, spoke to British couple also on their way south.
Brief walk around site …
Wednesday 17th November. Grey and chilly again. Showers, washing.
Walked to St Jean de Luz, about 45 minutes. Seaside town, expensive! Wandered around port area, then along front and into town and found little outside pizza place with very chatty owner. Excellent lunch and coffee! Walked back, 8 Kim’s, tired!
Thursday 18th November. Walked to Socoa, about 45 mins. Saw marina and bay, surfers, good swell. Shopped at little Carrefour, tried to walk along coastal path to return by round about route but closed so retraced our steps. 10 km – tired again!
