Left Fonts de l’Algar about 10.30am, went an hour on twisty rods to El Castell Guadalest. Parking crowded, decided just to stay for a couple of hours rather than staying overnight. Castle well worth a visit, splendid views, and interesting tour of house and castle. Very touristy!
Drove here (Coll Verd Camping – ACSI) arriving late afternoon. A bit drab with narrow access roads.
News of new Covid variant (Omicon) emerged and discussed what if anything we need to do. Will keep an eye on events, and possibly go to Valencia tomorrow then head for France.
Sunday 29th November. Went into Valencia on bus – met and chatted to German couple at bus stop. Got a bit lost and very cold in bitter wind. Went into cathedral and heard part of sung mass – male voice excellent! Very crowded, so made our way to extensive park, then on into Museum of Art – very warm and full of old masters. Got a bit fed up of saints and crucifixions so made our way into park again. Milder, walked a way, found outdoor cafe and had coffee and chocolate crepes!
Walked on to arts centre area, magnificent modern buildings, out of this world. Getting cold again so finally found bus stop and returned to site.
Considered again effects of new Covid rules on our trip …
Monday 29th November. Woke late, decided that activities after our return affected by new rules, so booked overnight crossing from St Malo instead of Caen, ordered PCR tests – sor’ed !
Went for walk along beach in relatively warm sunshine, then back along tracks through dunes. This area must be very busy in summer judging by the number of car parks.
Frozen paella kit for tea … mmmmm …
