CCP site had been full overnight, but now plenty of places so parked there and walked into town. Very modern, as destroyed in war. Modern cathedral made of poured concrete, but impressive inside. Huge beach. People in wet suits going indeoto water and walking parallel to beach – very strange! Spoke to lady whose husband is taking part. It is a leisure activity, they see who can do the most (250m) laps in an hour. Looks exhausting.
