Took back faulty fan heater – I got replacement but same problem. All of them seemed to rattle! Got refunded and bought a different (and more expensive) model.
Charged caravan battery for another couple of hours, chatted to our neighbours who got their car back – cost over €1000! They set off home after lunch. No problem apparently with Nissan parts.
Went to Samara, not far away. Park which combines arboretum, herb garden, demonstrations of house from prehistory and a prehistoric museum. Interesting but didn’t have time or energy to see it all. Met Scottish blacksmith who settled here over 20 years ago. His English showed distinct French elements!
Went to Honda but parts still haven’t arrived. Didier said that they had apparently gone elsewhere and the woman at the parts warehouse had assured him she would locate them and send them here, to arrive today or tomorrow. He seems concerned and understands our frustration but his hands seem tied and he is in the hands of Honda.
Caravan Club rang and we discussed options. They will ring Didier tomorrow after parts should have arrived and if necessary put on a bit of pressure.
Weather improved – cloudy at first but dry and got sunnier and warmer (up to 15).
