Up at 5.30am, off at 6! Last part of road to port unexpectedly closed but managed to follow alternative route down steep hill round Dover Castle. Arrived port 6.45.
Left a little early and disembarked promptly, found route OK, made good progress for an hour.
Then signs of clutch slipping – change down on hill, foot down, engine revs rose then gradually fell. Then same accelerating in 6th gear. Clutch still more or less working, but probably fading fast.
Stopped on aire, phoned Red Flag who told me there is a Honda agent in Amiens. Proceeded gently, 80 Kim’s, 4th gear, about 80 Kms, no further problem.
Very helpful receptionist on caravan site, found location of Honda ready for tomorrow. Drove there to make sure.
Local walk round park/sports area and canal. Pleasant. Weather dry and mild but mostly cloudy.
