Cotswolds

Thursday 1st July 2021 – Left home 14.25 – busy but fairly straightforward journey to Pebbly Barn Farm. Large open field, racehorses and friendly owner.

Friday 2nd July 2021 – To Sezincote gardens – house and gardens in Indian style. Wonderful. Later shortish walk to village of Evenlode – a very expensive area, not many ‘locals’!

Saturday 3rd July 2021 – Rain forecast initially but looked more promising. Walked to Chastleton, about 3 miles, found tea and cakes in churchyard! Weather more threatening and got back 10 minutes before rain, though we only caught the edge of a shower.

To Charlotte’s in the evening – very pleasant, we haven’t seen her since she left Exeter for Edinburgh in 2007!

Sunday 4th July 2021 – Drove to Charlbury and wandered around. Saw our old house and met the lady who bought No 6, apparently a legal person working in London but mainly living here now. Weather surprisingly good compared to forecast, sunny in Charlbury, but rained in Chippy, had just a short walk around.

Monday 5th July 2021 – Left a bit late, after chatting to CL owner John Beswick. Got to Steve Marshall’s about 12.30. Nice lunch, tried to fix his computer but failed. Took it with me to try some more at home.

Drove down A48 via Chepstow, reasonable journey but road poor in places. Got to Willis’s Batch 7pm by which time it was raining hard.

Tuesday 6th July 2021 – To Nick’s for day. Dee has been pretty poorly, but seems much better now. Home 8pm.
